LIKE WOOD, LEATHER IS A NATURAL MATERIAL
Pilat&Pilat works with an aniline leather (sheep leather) and a semi aniline leather.
Aniline leather is dyed leather through and through in a vat of aniline dyes. It is smooth leather with open pores without a pigment layer (color layer) on the top so that the natural texture of the skin is still recognizable. It is the most natural type of leather.
A drop of water on the surface of aniline leather penetrates the leather and causes a dark spot in the leather because the pores of the leather are not closed. Aniline leather is very sensitive to water and grease stains, as well as discoloration from sunlight. In the hand, aniline leather feels warm and waxy and looks matte.
ANILINE LEATHER MUST BE HANDLED WITH DUE CARE
• Never place furniture in direct sunlight. Sunlight affects the color.
• The leather can dry out, do not place your furniture too close to a heat source. We recommend a relative humidity between 55% – 65% in your home.
• Only use maintenance products that are suitable for use on the upholstery of your furniture. Solvents, stain remover, acetone, benzene, turpentine, shoe cream, etc. are clearly not suitable. We recommend the products of LCK, professional furniture care.
• Be careful with pets, sharp objects on clothing, shoe buckles, Velcro, belts and jewellery. This can damage the leather.
• Wrinkle formation is a normal phenomenon

SEMI ANALINE LEATHER
Collection 1416 Ohmann can be referred to as a polished pigmented leather. The natural-looking print ensures optimum efficiency. A very uniform and constant material, extremely suitable for intensive use (project and family). This article is finished with a dirt-resistant layer. Extras: strong, user-friendly and easy to maintain.
