The Journey

Visual artist / designer Trude van Assem spent the summer of 2008 in Bosnia to develop a design into a prototype. Although she thought she knew all about the ins and outs of the manufacturing process, she was blown away by the amount of work involved before a design is turned into a usable form. Trude followed the entire process and learned about every step on the way from the tree to the dining room table and the garden bench. Her photographic story set in Twijzel and in the plant in Bosnia shows the process in full detail while taking the reader on a journey.
